Staqrbase regeneration

I've bbeen playing now for sometime > a month.
I wonder if anyone can tell me ' How do you get ships and Starbases to regain Hit points after damage fromeither pirates or enemy craft.

I can probably guess that with a ship you fly to a friendly planet, but a Starbase cannot move! Its these that trouble me most - I can fight off the pirates but take damage.

Suggestions anyone?

yeah i want to know too. The Starbase's regen about 1 HP per round. I totally have to keep like 10 constructors around so that when i goto war any starbase that explodes i can replace. I wish you could like get 10hp per constructor or something....

Unfortunately for us, that one is 'working as designed'. Ships and starbases get back HP only with the passage of time, and at the moment, there is not a way to send other ships to repair them (at least, not a way that I know of).

Of course, one way to deal with the issue (with regards to space stations) is to make a few ships of your own, and strike their fleets before they attack your station... but I know that I would appreciate it if there was a way to repair damaged ship/bases as well. A way other than 'waiting'.

what i end up doing i blockaiding my starbase with ships. Because my starbases are normally superpowered the ships around then get massive bonuses. then after like 20 turns i group them all up and smash them against an AI

I just wish there was a fast way

I do smash their ships, usually, but occasional s**t happens & some get through. Setting up Stabases with added armor, missiles etc via Constructors is good sense but I'd still like to know 'How long to regenerate hit points'

Maybe it would be good to be able to use constructors to repair starbases too. Like having the option of reparing some hitpoints instead of upgrading when you fly a constructor to a damaged starbase.

Definatly something that needs to be added. What? a race is so advanced that it can make huge city sized space stations but cant patch them up? With enough contructors you can technicaly build a full huge city starbase in 1 week but you can only repair 1 hp a week? Not right at all.

If you go into Xeno Research-Advanced Computing-Basic Minaturization-Enhanced Minaturization. The following Trade Good is available Micro Repair Bots (20% Bonus to Starships Repair Ability) . It might also be capable of repairing the Starbase faster since the starbase is considered a ship.

Alternatively, if you have good diplomacy skills, you can trade that starbase to someone at peace with your enemy for money, tech, or another starbase until it's repaired, and then trade for it back. This prevents it from being destroyed by your enemy, and depending on who you trade with you may actually make a profit on the deal.

I also don't like that you can't put a ship on a starbase and have it guard and it actually perform the function you'd expect. Ships placed on a starbase should act as barriers to invading ships until destroyed.

They do. Ships target the weakest target first, which is sure as HELL not your starbase. As such, the starbase will be the last thing they attack

I havent progressed fully in the technological tree yet but is there a a modual you can build on a starbase that functions as a fleet command control that you would build on a planet? It seems only natural that a fleet 'docked' at a starbase gaurding it would defend it as a fleet action WITH the starbase as well. If not then they should. It wouldnt be that hard to put in.

no modual for fleet controll samuria, but if you follow the chain of starbase defences even to the second tier they become quite powerful. with max starbase defence they get like 80 something attack and high 70s defence. playing on normal ive yet to see anything but the odd pirate (who for some reason, much like any new minor races appearing, allways show up in ships at my tech level and just smash the AI lol) that can tackle one of those 'death stars' and even tickle it.

their is also a racial pick that allows for faster ship repair iirc, though ive never used it.
