Wow am i lucky .. found a 26 class planet.. and a small bug

well the thing is, i seem to notice that my population has been growing steadily with the fact my planet size is only class11 and i have a population of 16billion is this how its suppose to work?

Also, when i researched soil enrichmnet, my planets automatically did it .. with the class 26 planet, with the new soil enrichment it was raised to 28, however, there was a bug when i loaded my game again it was brought down to class 26 again, and was told for me to research habitat improvement? bug?

A PQ 11 planet will continue to grow (provided morale is good) to a population of 34.6b. So it's not only fine, you have a lot of room to go.

The tiles that required soil enrichment will not be the same tiles that require habitat improvement. Also, there is a display bug that does not show the planet's correct PQ when you load a save (vaguely remember the details of that thread). but if you count the actual tiles you can build on, you should count the correct number. I don't recall ever seeing a PQ planet that nice in any of my limited number of games yet, so not sure if there is a PQ cap that comes into play with that one.

ahh thanks for the heads up.. so im really surprised my planet pop keeps on getting bigger. I guess i should start emphasising more on farming now since i know this fact. thanks

Those high quality planets are great. I had 4 lvl 26 planets in my last game. Turned one into a production center, one into a research center, and the other two into population centers.

Zippyriver, are you talking about 'Class' or 'Planet Quality'? I thought these were twocompletely different things - class relates to the number of tiles available for building on, whilst PQ relates to maximum population and possibly approval rating. That said, I've never seen this mystical planet quality indicated anywhere in a planet... so is it possibly derived from the class?

This horrible bug has been with us throughout the betas posibly before but i didn't notice doubt it has been fixed in the latest beta 'cos i havn't seen it in change log.

It happens to the AI's as well, on smaller planets it means you often have to get rid of farms and ferry off population because of the PQ returning to original levels after you load the game.

Attention Stardockians:

This bug should surely be high priority on fix list esp for full 1.1 version.

My last game (large/com/com/com/ normal tech rate/ 9 opponents/ 3rd difficulty above normal) the AI playing the Iconian refuge, had a class 21 planet. Received the random event where the planet quality doubles( have had this happen about every third game I play) So their 21PQ became a 42.Yes Im sure....a 42.

Based on this, a PQ of 26 *could* become a 60. 26+2(soil enhance) +1 habitat imp +1 terra forming x 2( doubler bonus) . Obviously this assumes all of the bonus tiles are enhanced before the doubler,. Were I incorrect in assuming that the tile improvements would also double then the theoretical maximum would be 56. ( 26 x 2) + 2 +1+1.

As a side note....I have also had a PQ4 get the doubler....so the bonus can also be faily useless

I've only seen one 26 size planet in 3 weeks of playing, and that was only yesterday.

PQ 72, only once, but the ai had built it up some (it wasn't just out there).
