AI rebuilds "____ Capital" over & over & over...

I've seen this in every game I've played so far... once I get to a point in my games I get the CNN news that "So & So had a major breaktrhough on XYZ... They built an Economic Captital"... However, I get this for the same races over and over - as though they built it one turn on one world, then the next on another, and they just keep flip-flopping back and forth. This happens for more than just one race in each game.

I've seen the same thing. When your espionage gets high enough, look at how their planets are laid out. I had a crazy situation one 1.1 beta 3.014 where my neighboring Altarians suddenly became incredibly influential because they build 3 cultural exchange centers on each planet in the area. Punks.

Maybe they are losing their economic capital planet in a war and rush building another? I've never seen the AI build one if they already had one but you can capture them. I usually have a handful by games end.

I see the constant messages, but when I look at the planet in question, there is only 1 Capital. Perhaps it is a bug in the GNN.

Unless it was a planet they captured, then there may be more than one.

You can capture a minor race buildin a ____ capital after you have already built one. It allows you to finish construction. It was like this in galciv1

nope, I can confirm this, I reported since the last beta.

I have seen it happen before I press end turn for the first time...quite disheartening to see the Yor pumping out a MFG Capital before I even settle on what my first building will be...

Do you know which race it is? Each player has its own way of doing its planet stuff.

Hey Brad, I reported this about 4 days ago with beta 3. Take a look at this (if the link doesn't work for you then do a forum search with the word double, it should be the "double galactic achievement under my name). Pay attention to the last message, it clears thing a bit

I believe I made a mistake in the early post of the topic that it's Arceane. But I'm totally possitive before me that planet hasn't switch side before, first because the Drengin and the Arceane were not at war (100% possitive, since they're kinda far apart and neither of them was at war with anyone). And my influence cover both terriory.

I provided a screenshot so you can see that there are 2 Politic Capitals are being built. I also mentioned that it seems there were a lot of report of capital of all type being built, definitely more then 1of each type per race. I wasn't so sure but now seeing other people reporting it I believe I was not imagine thing.

Just to clarify, I was able to see, in multiple games, on planets I conquored or one ones that I could spy on, that in each case there were in fact multiple builds of the same Capital building, although to be fair I don't recall ever seeing the *same* capital type building twice on the same world - just in the same empire.

But this happens often, not infrequently. Like every game I"ve played since beta 13 (I've only been playing since beta 12), so I think it is an enourmas stretch to believe that each case was one of an unusual but reasonable case of having conquored some other race and hence stealing a world with their ___ captital building on it (but maybe...).

I see the GNN message for this for most AI's I've played aginst since beta 3A come up every few turns --- but if I go to the world specified there is only one such building. Perhaps the GNN notification code is a bit 'loose'.

Hmmm... could be.

Its just odd to see the Terrans build that Manufacturing Capital every two turns or so, when their empire is crumbling around them...

But I don't have a better theory... Maybe they're rush-building one (their only allowed one), then the Drengin take that world, then they again build one on a different world (since they don't have one anymore?), ... repeat

But does the game allow you to build a given ___ capital once your one has been built, even if it has been conquored? That soulds like an awfully big "hole"...
