Tech Costs

Could someone tell me where I can find a list of all technologies and their costs (both butter and guns)?

Download and use the Galactopedia. https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=105605#851532

The info is also in the games XML files:

\GalCiv2\Data\English\TechTree.xml

Also try the Wiki. There was also a user who posted a user made Tech tree with base costs. It's here somewhere, sorry I don't have the link handy.

Note that in each of the beta's, SD is still playing with the tech costs to try and get a better balance. And the costs will vary from base depending on what speed you set Tech research too.

Re: Tech Tree

I made a Tech Tree that outlines the research costs and 'benefits' of each tech. The link below downloads it, but you can also go to the 'Library' (little ways down).

I haven't done the Weapon/Defense side of the Tree, but I think I will finish it.

The Tree is only accurate to version 1.1beta, but I'll update it after the final version of 1.1 is done.

What type of file is that..? It just called GC2 and has no extention. What application should one use when opening this file?

BinnisterGC2,
I think that the tech trees that you developed are awesome. I find them extremely handy.

I think that the weapons side tech tree would be just as beneficial. That is what I meant when I said 'both butter and guns'.

Something else that would I would find great would be a simple spreadsheet listing all advances and their tech cost. When some alien comes to me offering to trade, it would be really useful to know the research cost difference between what he is offering and what he is asking. It would also be really useful when you're giving technology to another race. I started doing it myself from your tech trees but came up short (only the 'butter' side).

Well...the one downloadable file is a .zip file. There are then 3 .pdf files (Adobe Acrobat) files that you can print out.
