'Tactical' Map View Only

No planets, ships or anything except Stars and Suns (I know, I know)

I have searched the forum for an answer to this one, but the one provided does not work (changing regional settings). I have Windows XP SP2, Latest direct X, latest Nvidia drivers for Geforce 6600GT and still no planets or ships. I remember having them when I installed the game but suddenly they were replaced for ever by circles for planets and different groupings of circles and polygons for ships and stations...confused.

Thanks for any help.

My own fault. In my eagerness to have everything maxed out, I also 'maxed out' the tactical zoom level to 100%...making the planets and ships disapear...my big bad. At least I spotted it before someone pointed out the blatently obvious. Back to the game...
