Bugs on AMD run machine

1st on Gigantic glalaxies it bogs down.
2nd on Battle of the Gods it will not let me pick another race.
3rd it crashes a number of times at various points.

Is there some way to put the engines and such on the inside of the hulls of ships you design?

What of weapon arcs? If a fighter gets in the blind spot of a large ship it can eat the larger ships, ala the old axiom speed is life in fighter circles. Weapon arcs? as far as I can tell all weapons point forward.

Also in Battle of the gods would it be better to build basic factories then slowly upgrade. I would allow for colonies to get into the game quickly Industrial secotors take way to long.

Inconceivable! It's there, plain as day in the debug.err file!

Well there used to be a real difference in high end computing between Intel and AMD. IIRC AutoCAD hated AMD some time ago. This game looks pretty complecated. I was just wondering if that is a problem.

Those differences you are describing are no longer the case. In fact, AMD X2 dual cores perform better than Intel dual core processors. Athlon 64s offer better gaming performance and run cooler and use less power. If your machine is 'bogging down' on large galaxies it is simply an issue of computer speed. Since you did not specify what type of AMD processor you have, an older Athlon XP or a Sempron might struggle with the game, or perhaps you need a RAM upgrade. Depends, but basically it's due to your machine being too slow to handle the additional 'stuff' that is hapenning on such a large scale.

If you've got a dual core system, then upgrade your drivers for the CPU.

This is how it's supposed to work, sorry.

3rd it crashes a number of times at various points.
BAY-TAH! B-E-T-A., BETA! Either use the last stable version and tolerate it's "lack of features" in comparison, or suck it up.

D'oh! You just picked the largest galaxy availible! That's 256 sectors multiplied by 100, or 25,600 parseces to process each turn! That's without all the graphics mind you. 9 races, excluding the player, with varying viewing ranges, algorithms and units... and you're complaining? You just handled your PC a big task to tackle my friend. Maybe, turn it down?

If you still want to complain about them, post the Debug.err of your crashes and your system statictics otherwise.

that is the reason and the weakness of DL to begin with, the only weakness which the campaign trying to explain to you about the dread lord! It take too long to build their industrial sector and make use this weakness wisely, so build the couple fews indsutrial sector first to boost up production in the MOG are a stretegy used by myself in a fun game of MOG!

Not complaiining just observing. Used to be a tech writer for logistics dot com. We did the majority of bug hunting. Just observations. Well I guess I was because Spanky the First just handed the Korx there butt on a platter I got all of there money and a peace treaty and was about to complent the first in the Ghengis Khan class Dreadnaught (name Red Assed Baboon).

Well, when the galaxy is Gigantic I have found its easier to expand quickly without pissing races off although the green tentical faced dudes or the Krox always build a influnce star base next to my capital. I wonder how many I have to blow up till the AI learns not to do that..

Its a real good game. I could see a bunch of add on upgrades for sale in the future.

Yeah I am thinking of a processor upgrade and more memory. I just gotta keep my teenager from downloading crap and bogging it down more and more.

And whats with checking for internet availiblity. I have noticed the game tends to run faster and smoother when I have my DSL turned off.

Heh.

You can disable the "check internet" stuff within the game options I believe, although if you're going to use the Metaverse you might want it on.

If your PC is that slow when connected to the 'net you might want to run a virus/adware scan, just in case.

Some how I think that it will keep bogging know the mental processes of a teenager "If I down load grokster and get a few songs dad will never know". Yeah running them a norton utlities all the time.

Well thanks Wicked Flea.

All in a a very good game. Just wish there was a tatical fleet module and weapon Arcs. Dreadnaughts would be very frightened of fighters then.
