How much hard drive space is needed?

I'm thinking about buying the game, but I have an old second hand hard drive (rest of the parts are pretty new) and I need to know how much space it takes up, both the download file and the uncompressed space. It doesn't say on the minimum requirements, and I can't seem to locate the search function for the forum.

slightly over 1g, I think, with potential upgrade, I think, 2g is enough.

To meeth the MS recommendations for software, it stores files in two places, the main game folder where you install it, and in your \My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 folder.

I keep My docs on a second drive - you cna probably change this to meet your requirements but be aware that if your My Docs folder is on the first drive it will store sav gaems, ships and custom mod files there. Not a lot of space used though - I am using around 40MB in the My Docs path with a bunch of custom ships and sevral saves. I archive the saves after I am finished with that game to another location though.

Don't forget your swapfile has to be about 1-2gb, this may consume additional space.
