Identical planets found in same game!

Who knew Iversonia V had a twin?

Sorry, all. I botched my first post by not posting in the "Bug Reports" forum. Here's the repost:

Greetings Devs...

I found an instance of two identical planets in the same galaxy: Devra I and Iversonia V. I'm not sure if this is truly a bug or some sort of optimization, but I figured I'd report it anyway. Screenshots are below. (I found this completely by accident. I was cycling through the planets and when I pressed the 'Next' button, the planet name changed, but the terrain didn't! )

I'm running 1.10b2.010 and you can get the save game, if you need it at: Link

I would say that it's just a coincedence as there are only so many of those tile sets to go around. One just happened to be duplicated in the same game. Or there are only like 50 tile sets and they're recycled. I'd assume theres something like 200 to 300 of them. But thats just a wild shot in the dark

Hmm...I'm pretty sure that the terrains are supposed to be randomly generated each game. Certainly Earth, Mars, Iconia, etc. are exceptions, and there seem to be certain basic planet base 'types' (e.g. Terran, Ocean, Jungle, Barren, etc.) that all planets are generated from. However...

I'm just a little sad because Brad was right: the neat thing about having unique planets is that they make each game feel different. It's harder to, er, get attached to these planets, when:

1. You have duplicate planets.
2. You have tiles whose terrain types don't match with their graphics (e.g. ocean listed as prairie) Link
3. The wrong colony map is paired with the planet as viewed from space (the main galaxy map) Link

Yeah there's a limited amount of planet scapes out there, I've had a random planet with the Earth map before.

Well, I'll be dadgummed. There goes the neighborhood

Only class 10 and higher planets are randomly generated each game.

This is where people come in and request more maps.
I have gone to the point of micro managing planets to optimize them so please add more planetary maps to the game.
I can only stare so long at a planet to switch to another and wonder, didnt I just set this place up?

Unless of course, that is in 1.1 and I'm too lazy now to check

I don't see it as that big a deal. The misplaced tiles is annoying though (ocean tiles being called prairie and vice-versa).

P.S. Hey Franco! Thats a pic of Abydos you got there. Good to see some Stargate fans around here.
