Sol System Against the rest of the 'verse?

Hello everyone.

Just wondering if there is any way of editing the PQ of the Sol system... i have the urge to play in a huge chaotic galaxy with just the one system... trying to fend off invaders from everywhere else.

Iv tried inhabiting 3 planet systems but its hopeles, the PQ is never high enough to support a whole race. If it works i think it could be interesting.

Even a cheat to turn a planet habitable or boost the PQ would do fine

Just check out the CustomPlanets.xml file in your data/English folder where you installed GC2. It should be somewhat self-explanatory.

Just set Earth's base PQ to 72...

Thanx Kyro! It worked a charm. 72 PQ? I thought 50 was the max? Either way that would make it too easy! I only bumped it to 26 in the end to simulate one of those real brilliant planets you come across every now and then for Earth and then bumped the other planets to medium habitable ones appart from Jupiter. Out of interest, if i DID set the PQ to 72, what would the game do? wouldnt cause a crash would it?

@ Alpha, you cant make a custom system for a custom race in game sadly. You have to go into the galciv 2 files on your computer. The file you need will be in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Data\English, you need to go to that folder.

Next right click on the customplanets file and select edit. Finally Scroll down to the bottom of the page and rename your planets in your system and fiddle with the planet qualities! Its very easy - i think its the first time iv ever actually 'edited' and it only took a couple of minutes.
