Ok I did the digital download purchase through Stardock Central. all is working good, but with the way the download worked I dont see how to backup the game on a cd for if I have a problem with my computer sometime? So any ideas?

Just burn the files to a cd.

There's a File/Archive Application in Stardock Central. This is the "official" way to backup to CDs Stardock's software.
You then get a directory called "Backup" in the Stardock folder. It contains the 4 files you downloaded : GalCiv2, Movies, Tutorials, and Multimedia. Burn them on 2 CDs.
I suggest you also burn Stardock Central and your serial num. on one of the 2 CDs.
To reinstall the game you need Stardock Central : File / Restore.

Does Marcathonas's suggestion really works ? I have noticed that there are some GalCiv2 entries in the Windows Registery.

I'm interrested in an answer because i find Archive/Restore solution quite uncommon to setup a software.
