Bonus, what bonus

When a zinithium hull ( sorry for spelling) thing has been built on a planet do you only get the bonuses for your ships that have been built on that world or is it an empire wide bonus any thoughts would be appreciated

If its a trade good it applies to your entire empire, though the effect only shows up on the planet on which it is built (as far as I recall, I don't usually bother checking...).

The effect also shows up under abilities in the Civilization Manager where all the empire-wide bonuses are listed.
