How can I use researched Arnorian Armor, Telepathic Defense & Subspace Rebounder

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me how I can use these techs even though I already researched them? They don't show up in the ship design screen so I wonder what I can do with them.

Thats very odd...

After you researched them, and picked your alignment (so you did not trade them from a good race), you just should be able to see them. Never had this problem, double check your available modules.

Same problem here.
They simply don't show up in the ship design section .
But i play the german -can't_be_patched_till_1.1_final- version (V 1.0) - maybe a bug in that version?

They aren't available in the retail version.
They were included in the 1.0X-patch.

Make sure you researched them in the armour section, they don't just appear after being good, they have their own tech requirements (same as evil weapons)

aye as ender and mark said make sure you research them and then double check that they are not in your list. the sourt functions for ship items sucks. they dont resolve out in the right order. seems to me that the latest and greatest should be on top of the componant list AND you should be able to clear the old weapons/armor/support pods out of the parts list when your never going to use them again.

but anyhow, its possable its there but just at the bottom of the list of all the crap armor your are forced to scan through.

I am having the same problem. I align with good, and research the defense. i am not playing a foriegn version of the game, and I have looked through all the moduals, and cannot use the good aligned defenses. I have updated with 1.0x

You have to start a new game after having updated to 1.0X to be able to use them.

Ok... I started a new game, and have filled all the requirements(become good, researched the defenses, making sure I have them) and still cannot find them to put on ships. I can use evil weapons, however, as I could before the update.

Weird.
You could always open Galciv2\Data\English\GC2Types.xml which has all the ship components, do a search for Arnorian Armor and the others and see if they actually exist there.
I always play evil so I haven't ever tried using them but they are present in my GC2Types.xml-file.

Ok; I have two of these files, neither contains these defenses. Is this something I can add myself to the file? If so, can anyone give me the stats for the three defenses?

Ok; I think I have found the problem. I had downloaded the 1.0x ver, but I don't think it installed correctly; something about non-matching file sizes. I am re-installing it now. I had the 1.0d patch, before.

Now I just have to research to the alignment again...

I have the same problem...I have version 1 (it was like that right out of the box), but though I can research the Arnorian armor and the other good-aligned def-techs I cannot find it anywhere in my available tech.

Like I have already said, they are not available in the version that comes right out of the box.
