Physical Memory Dump

Every time I try and start a new game I get a blue screen of death and a physical memory dump that restarts my entire system. Video driver's are updated and all that shit.

Running on an ATI Radeon 9000 Mobility with 512 ram, 2.0 ghz processor.

If you need more info from me just respond with what you need and I'll do what I can.

Post the contents of the debug.err, which is found in your GalCiv2 directory.

But please only the first sections with all the information about you PC and the game, and the last couple of lines.

Furthermore you should download SmartExceptions from the download area and start it before the game starts. It creates an additional file in the root directory of your HDD, i.e. C:\ . The file ends with .CRA. Post this file, too. (I don't know if it works when you get a blue screen from Windows, but try it.)

*Sigh* i've posted this thread a dozen times over... i get them too, but at random times during the game and sometimes with an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL message.

I don't think that's a game error. IRQs are only accessed at the driver level.

right but the game is CAUSING the problem. b/c that's the only time it happens. And besides, it's still a physical memory dump.

i don't know about that. Something the game is doing is causing some kind of a driver or hardware conflict that no other program does. Who's fault is that? Stardock's? Computer owner's? Gremlin's? who knows, doesn't really matter. Bottom line? it's a recurring problem for a group of people that needs a solution.

Have you posted your debug.err somewhere or tried SmartException, yet?

Next time it happens write down and post the complete error code you see on the BSOD. i.e. 0 x 0000001e (forum is taking out the first 6 zeros' before the 1e - looks like 0 x .0.0.0.0.0.0.1e without the dots) or whatever. That will help track it down to see where the issue is.
