Galactic Privateer bugged

I'm playing with 1.1 Beta 2a but galactic privateer is bugged. My trade routes are attacked so the effects of Galactic Priateer aren't applied. There was also a problem with galactic guidebook anyone noticed if it was fixed or it is yet bugged?

I believe what the Galactic Privateer does is prevent your trade route from being canceled if it is attacked and destroyed too many times. Unless you are losing trade routes, it is working as intended, although I admit it isn't worded to explain that very well.

I got a message similar to the trade federation message once when I tried to attack an arcean trade route, I thought it said something like this route if protected by the galactic privateers etc. That was quite a while ago, and I wasn't at war with the arceans the freighter just happened to be there when I got there.

when i tried to attack another civ with that wonder, it said that i couldt be done becouse that trade route is under protection from the galactic privater, but when u own it u´r self the other civs can attack u´r trade routes , so i belive its a bug yet to be fixed

Too bad thats how it works. I was looking forward to seeing this badass privateer show up and kick the snot out of those enemies daring to attack my trade routes. Thats what you would expect after reading the description of it.

Ok it's not very clear, when my freighters are destroyed but my trade route is maintained i continue to perceive money?
If i continue to perceive money what affects destroying freighters? If all my freighters in the trade route are destroyed but the latter is not cancelled automatically will be created new freighters or what? When a trade route is cancelled you can no more build a trade route from homeplanet to alien planet?

When a trade route is destroyed, the line representing the trade route will vanish.

Then the trade route from your planet to planet (x) is finished. You will have to build a new freighter and reestablish the route to planet (x).

The further your freighter is from the start, the more money you collect. If a freighter is destroyed then it needs to start over at the beginning of the trade route.

I believed that freighter movement on the trade route was only eye candy because i receive money every turn, i assumed that their position was important only in relation for enemy ship considering that wherever they are on the trade route i receive my money

Yeah as far as I know it's just eye candy, if the route is active you recieve the cash each turn.

The whole privateer thing sounds fun. I want the option to steal cargo off of freighter ships I run into.

as of 1.0X, the privateer would not only not protect against destroying freighters, but eventually you could lose the trade route, contrary to another poster (ive seen it happen to me). Not sure if its fixed in th e 1.1beta2 yet or not.

If you follow the movement notes on a freighter it counts the number of turns in a round trip.Outward bound starting from your planet is at its lowest money profit, however on the return trip it keeps the maximum amount of profit ,(minus starbase bonuses if an economic starbase bonus is not effecting it,) until it gets back to your home planet.
