Where's my lend-lease ships?

On several occasions now, I've had allied or friendly races tell me they are sending me some of their finest ships to aid in my defense...and that's the last I ever hear of it. No ships ever arrive. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Am I missing something? Where are the ships?

Most likely they donated a Mining Base to you, somewhere deep in their territory and easily destroyed should you turn against them or outlive your usefulness. That's what I've noticed when I receive donations.

Yep, this happened to me for the first time last night (beta 2). I couldn't see any donated ships but a dozen turns later I noticed a spot of my color on the edge of the map within my current enemy's territory. A military resource starbase.

So check the map for new starbase acquisitions when an AI donates "ships".

yea, they should say starbase instead of ship...ships you can move, starbases, well you know ...

I had one game where the Drengin of all people I believe was donating me tons of their smaller ships every round...
