Problem in campaign game

I have tried twice to play the first mission in the campaign and twice been stopped cold by bugs.

BUG: I spent all my money upgrading all my ships. A long while later I noticed all my ships had reverted to the old design (but the money was gone). Needless to say I could no longer execute the war against the Drengin, so I quit the game.

AI ISSUE: In the second game I rushed to build war ships and parked them off each of the Drengin's 4 planets. The Drengin continuously tried to build constructors which I destroyed upon launch. The AI was brain dead about this, I probably destroyed 100 constructors. While the AI wasted all it's efforts stubbornly trying to build constructors (guess it really really wanted starbases!), I built up. This is a relatively minor issue, but I wanted to mention it anyways.

BUG: Eventually I came to a point where I clicked the "End Turn" button and the button went away and never came back. The UI was still active, it was like the game got stuck in the AI turns and never proceeded to the next turn. I reloaded several times and tried different things but the game kept getting stuck at that turn. I am still trying various combinations to get by this (I don't want to quit and start this mission a THIRD time because I will probably hit yet another game stopper!).

I really want to like this game, but game stopping bugs are preventing that. Are these known bugs and are there any workarounds?

What version of the game are you running? Posting your debug.err file may help find something that is causing you problems.

As regards your upgrade bug, did you check the stats of your ships post upgrade? Reason being, they keep their old names so it might not look like they've upgraded, but actually they have. If you did, then sorry, can't help..

Cheers.

If the turn button disappears, you can just end the following turn by hitting enter, then it should go back to normal.

I've noticed that in 1.0x as well. I upgrade a ship and the stats upgrade, but the name doesn't.

in the current Beta, that is fixed. At least it worked perfectly last night.

The game doesn;t freeze when end-turn is hit. When it does not advance to the next turn, it means that you have a ship set on autopilot who has reached its destination with movement points still left. If you hit the "find" button, you'll be sent ot that ship and when it completes movement (assuming no other auto ships have moves left) the turn will commence properly.

I'm glad they're working on that. It's annoying to have to go around and rename all the ships you've upgraded.
