Wildly spinning planets and Map dragging wildly BUG

I've had no problems with GalCiv 2 up until I installed the 1.1 beta upon which point I suddenly was afflicted with the wildly spinning planet and ship issue along with a map dragging wildly issue also. I did some research so as not to bog down the devs with a problem that maybe I could fix or figure out myself. Well after some research, I found the thread about dual-core issues.

My problem is that the game did not showcase the (supposedly) dual-core related issue with spinning planets until after I installed the latest beta patch 1.1???

My specs are:

AMD 64 FX-60
2 Gig of Corsair XMS RAM
2 Nvidia 7800 GTXs in SLI config
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Mobo
Audigy 2 Soundcard
Raptor 10k RPM 150gig HD

My main question is that I realize that there's some kind of Athlon X2 dual-core patch but I have a FX-60, not a X2 chip...which driver update should I use? The only one I see for dual-core says it's for X2 models, but again, I have the only FX model which is dual-core...is it the same thing as the X2s in this regard?

Thanks in advance for any answers about this....

BUMPING for great justice and a decent answer at least...

Yes, the dual core FX chip would also need the patch.

Holy s***, your computer is crazy. Mine is prehistoric in comparison!

Yes it's the same. The only difference between an X2 and an FX 60 is the label. It's not a patch, it's a driver for your CPU. Install it and you'll be ok, they're all the same.

And.... IT'S NOT A BUG!!!! It's your system not having up-to-date drivers.

Ok, StarBane has entirely to much cash. I'm calling for a council vote to see if he has to share 10% of his income with the rest of us for 3 years.

Okay..thank you everyone. I meant to say driver update, not patch. I do understand that it's not a patch. Doh!

Well I wouldn't consider it a bug BUT it only showed up (thought I made this clear but sometimes I'm not terribly clear with my posts, sorry if that's the case) AFTER I'd installed the beta patch, which pointed more towards the patch than this driver update.

Okay, about my ridiculous system..I honestly do not have anywhere NEAR that kind of money on a regular basis and probably would never spend that much on my system because I'd feel pretty bad doing so BUT... I had a really great windfall happen.

I was in an unemployment program since I'd just got out of the US Navy and hadn't found a new job yet. Well while I was in this program, I had to attend a class that discussed all the options, tools, and support available to me as an unemployed person and they mentioned this new pilot program called the PRA which basically is a program where you have $3000 to use towards classes or stuff like that to help you get a job. HOWEVER, it can also be used to reimburse you for anything you buy that might be related to helping you get a much better job down the road. Catch is, of course, that if you're unemployed, it's unlikely that you'll be able to spend a lot of that money and be able to afford waiting the 2 weeks that it's supposed to take to get paid back for your expenditure. In my case, I'm hoping to take some classes with my GI Bill for computer graphics and web graphics and my system was good, at the time, but not beefy. So I put in my request to update my entire system with sweet parts and they approved it. Found a good friend who was willing to float me the $$ in exchange for my old videocard and cpu (interest for using $2800 of his money) and off I went. The whole process worked awesome and I even got reimbursed in only a week's time.

SO..that's how I came to own this beautiful awesome system that I love!

Guess I feel a little guilty for having such a good system when others have to struggle by with less-than-good hardware...

OH forgot to mention, you can flash the bios on that mb too. I have the basic a8n 32-sli, 999,999 out of 1,000,000 dont need the bells and whistles that came with the deluxe and premium versions.

Hey guys, I also have this bug, and I also have a dual core machine.

AMD Athlon 64 X2
Geforce 7800
2 Gigs Corsair RAM

I'm NOT running SLI, but I AM running duel screens.

Latest video drivers.

I think it's a memory issue, it always happens if I play something else first, like BF2 or even Chessmaster 10.

I'll give it a shot, thanks.

[Edit: No luck. Still spinning, spinning, spinning.]
