There's Your Answer

Why won't these veins,
Carry you back to my heart?

She asked,

Like she really anticipated an answer,
But I'm not under her skin nearly as much,
As she's under mine.

Why can I feel so deeply,
Your averted eyes,
Everytime I try to turn your head?

She asked,

Forgetting that the depth she feels,
Is drowning me in the deep end of her shallowness,
And I can only tred for so long in those veins,
Despite how strong my arms have become in the process.

Why are you always the first one I find in my heart?

She asked,
Where she always looks last,

Cause that's where you left me,
Thinking you needn't look any further,
Yet you keep looking.
Asking why I'm not headed,
To where I've always been,

Well there's your answer.
