Ultra noob /Humor me if you're bored /Many ?'s //Getting frustrated

I built some transports. I right clicked on an enemy planet. It just sits there in orbit. I built another did same thing. That one accually invaded the planet. I built about 4 more, sent to various planets and they just sit there in orbit. I cannot figure out why the ONE ship landed the troops and the others won't. Just right clicking on the enemy planet should do it, right? This is why I'm frustrated.

Now the question's:

1. Whats the difference between sending a constructor to a "resouce" and making it mine and just turning one into a starbase? Do starbases effects stack (say 2 military bases in close proximity)?

2. Fleets. I can't figure them out. I researched enough logistics to form a fleet. It seems every turn the fleet disbands. I click on a ship and it takes out single.

3. Ship design. The status bar on the bottom is giving 2 statuses, the foreground and background of the bar. What's this mean?

4. Can I get a quick summary on what is planet specific and what is global (galactic). IE factories, do they just let that planet build, say, ships faster or do they contribute to a galactic resource pool? Like I am assuming all research type buildings do.

5. I can't figure out how to declare war.

6. Well this could go on forever. I'll stick with 5 for now.

I couldn't even win against 1 opponent on easy.

1) "mines" are built on pre-existing resource items (the colored glowy things) and provide a hefty bonus to your entire civ. "Starbases" can be built almost anywhere, and generate bonuses depending on their type. Yes, the overlap of two starbases effecfts stack

2)move your ships to a common square. Now see the little pictures at the bottom, select the ones you want in the fleet, then hit the "create fleet" button. Barring an odd glitch in your game that should make a fleet.

3)I assume you mean how some is bright and then another section is dark. The light section is the capacity of the hull you have used, the dark portion is what will be used up by the part you currently have selected

4)Each planet has its own resource pool. All resources are bought out of your galactic spending pool (incoming taxes + treasury)

5)just attack the fools, it will give you a warning that this will start a war.

6) five it is

0) Transports cannot land troops on a planet that has ships in orbit.

I have a question too. When I tried to get a transport of planet it stayed at a negative troop number (-100) and I couldn't change it.The planet had 20billion people and a moral of 72%.

Transports usually start fully loaded if the planet can support it, I would assume its a bug if it started at -100. I assume you tried the obvious and moved the slider but it had no effect?
