Luck and Creativity - worthwhile?

Luck and Creativity - worthwhile?

Playing as Altarians in my first game and comparing to my second game as Yor, I see no indications that the Luck and Creativity abilities had any effects.
Have you see their effects and do you think that they are worthwhile?

Hi!
I couldn't find more appropriate topic, so I'm posting here.

In almost every game I played I took the 10% better planets, thinking "Really cheap way to get more tiles on planets". But recently I started counting actuall tiles, and found there's no more of them. Planets I settled got only increased class number, not number of green tiles. It seems to give more tiles only on the HW. I vagually remember reading something about that. Can anybody confirm my findings? Is that a glitch or a feature?

It works for me...  Did you count the colony capital tile?  Also, don't forget you will only see an additional tile on base 10+ planets since everything rounds down.

Since the beta, I've been getting a lot more tiles for improved PQ, and I'm happy about it. It's good investing in factory, after factory, after factory...and putting your economy into overdrive. The PQ racial bonus is also nice when it puts your PQ over 10 and you get the +10% morale bonus. Not 3 pts' worth of nice, but....

Whoa! I'm embarrassed. I looked it up in the tech tree, and sure enough, there was the nano-ripper under singularity 4. This tech confuses me, why use anything else? Sure it's more expensive, but the offensive punch that early in the game is more than worth it. That also makes me wonder what good is creativity? I've not seen anything that appears to help me from creativity.

I'm in a "challenging" game right now (for first time) and WAS getting my arse kicked, but then found 5 Lucky Ranger ships (yes 5) in the next 10 turns or so....Was playing a race with +25 luck trait...Seems something "triggered" the finding of the ranger ships and as far as I know, will continue through the game...I was able to counterattack my enemies, take a few planets, and then make a peace treaty with all my hostiles...so its a brand new game now....

Luck seems too overpowered....needs some tweaking!

Hey, how do i get those graphics at the end of my messages? Ive played 2 games in the metaverse so far...should have some stuff
EDIT: Sorry, should have done a forum search on that....for those curious, you have to set your metaverse character to default...and then I guess wait a few hours/days...

That's my point. The +10% PQ gives more tiles only on the HW. I just did a quick testbed with a race with +20% PQ. The result was the same: HW was improved to 12, with 12 green tiles. A planet size 6 was improved to 7, but number of green tiles remained at 6. Another planet class 10 became 12, but with only 10 green tiles.
Will report that as a glitch.

It's a known bug as there are a few topic on it already. They did something in 1.1 but I'm not sure if they have fixed it on not because I'm not using the beta.

Yeah, it weird because most weapon tech that comes after arent very powerful either. Mass driver IS suppose to be stronger than the beam/missile weapon but the placement is a little awkward. Evil weapon is actually slightly more powerful and only 2 tech away (I think). The mass driver tree does take longer to research though.
