Invalid Serial code issue - Italian Version - Fix included

Can't use beta patch

I've spoke about this in similar posts, thought I would make my own thread, sorry if this is out of line.

I own the US. CE Edition. I purchased it from a local store, not online.

When I bought the game and went to the download section on here it asked me for my two serial codes to get the bonus patch and CE content patch. That went through with no problem and I patched the game.

Later I downloaded the stardock software and tried to register my copy on there and it told me my serial code was invalid.

That worried me and I sent an email about it then.

Now after I install the beta patch and it prompts me for the serial code, it tells me the same thing...invalid serial code!

Long rant short, I can't play the beta patch.

I emailed Frogboy with my information yesterday and emailed sales about the issue a while back when it first happened using the stardock software. I'm posting about this again here just incase those emails get missed.

I need someone to look into this for me and get it fixed.

been there, done that. Same issue both the last patch and this one. I guess I will pack the game to the closet and try again in a few months when things may iron out.

Mine worked with the ealier patches though, but not this one.

So it looks like this is an obvious problem, I knew I was not the only one having this issue. I think this is something with there website activation and not the game.

I just bought the North American CE version at Wal-Mart today, and the site tells me my serial code is invalid as well....can't even get the patches or updates. Haven't installed Stardock to my knowledge, and yes, before anyone states the obvious, I entered my serial number about ten seperate times to ensure I didn't typo anything. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah it has to be a website issue, because my codes work fine for downloading the CE and Bonus patch, but not the beta.

Hopefully we will get this resolved tomorrow when they come back from their weekend.

Anyone who is having a problem registering their serial number please send me an email with detailed information.  I will need to know your serial number, email address and exactly how you are trying to register it (via websites, Stardock Central, The game itself, etc) and what the exact error message is that you are receiving.

Once I have some of this information I should be able to isolate the issue(s).  But also, if you registered your serial number with an email address you must use the same account.  Registering it with a different account/email will result in an error.

I haven't had a chance to go through all the emails yet but we have already identified a potential problem.  It appears that there may be a printing issue for Italian versions that was distributed by Koch Media.  We have not confirmed this yet but we have a couple of cases where the last 3 digits of the serial number was not printed.

Hopefully tomorrow we will have a more definitive answer and solution.  Thank you for  your patience.

I don't know if you are already aware (or if can help) that the Serial number in the Italian version is printed over the CD 2 instead to be over the jewel-case

Just expanding the information:

If you are in Europe, have the English retail box from Paradox and only have a serial number beginning with "GC2-" then click here to obtain the correct serial number

If you have purchased the Italian version then click here to obtain a fixed serial number.

If you do not fall into one of the above categories and are having problems with registering your serial number please send an email to me at [email protected] (please include your email address, nickname, serial number and describe the error you are receiving).

I owe the german version and already played for days with version 1.0 .
But after patching to 1.0x all I get is "an error has occured while activating the product" instead of a launching game. Good job folks, thanks alot for the great support.
