Noob Questions

Some stats don't appear in the manual...

Hi folks,
I am new to this whole Galactic Civ thing, and, over the course of playing several games, have come across some terms that are not defined either in game or in the manual:

'Starship bonus'- Okay, sounds great, but bonus to what exactly? Does it apply to all of my starships or just those created on the planet that spawned the event that provides the bonus?

'Planet quality bonus'- Basically the same questions (though its pretty obvious that this one is just on that planet.)

'Bonus to trade routes'- Is this just a bonus (of 1-3%) to the number of trade routes allowed, or just to the amount that you make off of trade? Does this also include the amount you make off of trade routes started by other races?

Those are the big ones. Thanks for the help folks.

Planet Quality give you more tiles to build on, and higher max population.

Bonus to trade routes allows you more trade routes.

When you hover your pointer over a planet, its class is revealed. When you get a planet quality bonus, this base planet class is increased by the given %. Example. You find a class 10 planet and get a 20% planet quality bonus. The planet is now a class 12 planet with more tiles to build on.

As far as I know starship bonus applies only to ships built on that planet. I am not sure though "what" exactly the bonus applies to. I am reasonably sure it is not speed of the ship, which leaves hitpoints and damage. Hopefully someone else can clarify as I'd like to know as well

The trade routes one is an additional 1/2/3 total trade routes, as the other one affects the income. I think it is just some unnecessary %s.

I'm not 100% sure, but I was thinking that the starship bonus is a bonus for the production of starships.

PQ only increases the initial amounts of tiles for your homeworld.

Currently the only thing it really does is increase the max population of a planet. (Absolute maximum population is supposed to be based off PQ)

Are you sure about that? I've taken max out PQ bonus for a custom race, and its clear that every time I colonize a planet that the PQ goes up by at least two points. Its also clear that the number of tiles is correlated w/ the PQ number, although I admit that I've never compared that across game to make sure that I truly am getting more tiles in the games where I've taken the PQ bonus.
