I'm kinda new to this and am having crash issues. Here is my bug report and the information from the smartexception file.

Whenever I start a new game of Galciv2 in the beta, it freezes after 10 or so turns. I'll hit the "next turn" button, and then the game freezes. I can still move the mouse around and open all the planets and menus and stuff, but the turn never finished and the next turn button is gone. Reloading doesen't help my problem.

I've had this happen once before the beta, out of two dozen games, but now it happens every time.

Bug Description: Crash to Desktop

Reproduce: It seems to happen randomly at about the time an AI gets angry with me and starts to declare war
Got it in two games so far, first the white guys (iconian? korx?) got upset about some influence starbases and i got the CTD
loading an autosave a few turns earlier and then doing some stuff resulted in the war being declared as it should, no CTD
loading a quicksave just 1 turn before the CTD always reproduced the CTD, no matter if i bribed the AIs to be friendly or to war each other

If I upgrade a ship and click the box that upgrades ALL ships of it's type, for some reason it automatically forces every one of my colonies with a starport to begin building the new upgraded ship type.

1) The Social rollover to military production simply isn't happening. I will be at 100% social production, have a planet production nothing socially but starting a ship fresh, and the next turn the ship is still just starting. Furthermore in that situation the production numbers up top in the planet details screen are all screwed up.

2) When you construct a non-mining starbase the game doesn't tell you how it's going to cost. Unless you can't afford it--then it will tell you.

3) On the Xeno Ethics screen, if you can't afford an alignment, it doesn't tell you that it will take all the money you have now AND charge you 10bc/turn.

4) The Research and Social timetables are still screwed up. Research will very clearly say, "1 turn till it's researched," and you hit end turn, and it's not researched. Likewise, it'll say "2 turns" and come out the next turn.

2) BUG: I still get the weird "inverted" graphics, as when I had "French - Canada" in my regional settings; the bug has reapeared with the latest version of my Nvidia drivers.

I happen to agree with YBUSS, However I figured out that you can have 60% taxes, this will catch you up in other things. I definately think there need to be some rebalancing. But I was able to pull ahead of them. The thing that is KILLING me is the Ship Editor.
1) When you use the update ship, you get the cannot put this item on here because there is no space. When you update, the components are removed. However I believe that they are only physically removed. The Value is still there. Thereby ...ITS FULL.
2) The aliens are not varying thire research paths very much. Especially considering their neighbors have the same techs. The hostilities are very low too, considering some of the other races are suppose to be agressive.
3) The defender ships are being made are ridiculously STUPID. The computer is putting on SHIELDS instead of lasers (when they have the tech) Yeah what is up with the FODDER ships. They should at least put on ONE laser!!
4) Can we please work on some symetry for the computer ships.

NO CTDS YET, I did get one lock up, when I was in the detailed planet screen and hit the manager button.

Game was running fine for about 2 days now.
No serious problems. After an event, started getting a black screen except for a box around the mouse where i could see everything as normal. Try saving a game only being able to see about a 1/2 in square around the mouse. Anyway now anytime the game is started it goes black. even on the opening movie. ... debug as follows

The tooltips telling you the names of ships in orbit are still missing (they disappeared in the last official patch before the beta, I believe.)

I was in war with some civilization, after some time I noticed that suddenly I am not in war (tried to attack their ship)...

After some thinking I came to conclusion that this is result of the bug and a fact that I researched "Republic" and switched to republic government turn or two before I am noticed I am not in war.
And with republic war needs approval so it somehow "stopped" the war probably because I was the one who started the war initially (yet under imperial government).

But guys, change of the government is not a reason to stop a war If it started and going on you don't have "vote" about it.

The shipyard icon on the mainmap does not update when the shipyard production is changed in the governor screen.

To reproduce with a planet with no ship being built use the nothing -> new ship option. Icon still shows no activity (orange). Once the ship has been built the Icon updates. Worse is the reverse action setting active shipyards to nothing keeps the building icon (greenish).

Ship designer, with rotation at set to 15 degrees, it is not possible to set rotation of a 180 degrees, I think this applies to lower amounts e.g. 5 degrees as well.

Also suffering from the inability to upgrade previous hull designs.

Please give an option to switch off auto focus after ship move.

Having finally reached High espionage with some of the opponents I see:

A drengi planet with a technological capital on a planet with no research units - and placed on a +300% research tile (which doesnt appear to benefit the technological capital).
The summary for that planet, however, sugests that the square is giving +300tp, due to the bonus - looking at the research output of the planet, it is clear that this is not true, however. If the ai was expecting +300 tp, then it would explain why it built there, though.

More of a gameplay feedback post than a glitch post

1)5 AI's on a huge map, normal intelligence, abundant stars w/common habitable planets
2) Races: Drath, Iconians, Altarians, Yor and Thalan

Background:
On a whim I've kept my military spending at zero w/ research and social near 50% each. I wanted to check how fast the AI's can grow and how much it cost to stay with them, so I've been using the CNTL-M cheat for money.

After spending about 200,000bc (for ships and first factory at each colony) I have a nice sized territory, but am so bogged down with social expenses that I'm seeing a near 1000bc/turn deficit - and that's with specializing planets for population, industrial, etc. Problem is, I'm researching too fast and everything is trying to upgrade full bore, constantly.

Observation:
I decided to stop expanding and let my populations grow. Within a couple of turns there's 8 Iconian colony ships racing (speed 4) across my territory (entire center to left of huge map) to the farthest corner from their territory for the last remaining unclaimed planets.

For reference, the Iconians already have a larger territory than I do...as do the Drath, but the Drath didn't even attempt to go for those last planets even they were MUCH closer. Still, how are the Iconians able to expand faster than I'm able to cheat, without going bankrupt?

My guess: they are probably only putting 100 colonists on each ship instead of 500. This would drastically ease the population for taxes problem and give them 5 colony ships for each of mine. Granted their new colonies would grow that much smaller, but considering how slow my colonies with over 2B population are expanding there's no real loss.

When I get back to the game I will verify the population size of their new colonies.

Weird AI behavior in my current gigantic game.

All 9 races were filling their ships with harpoons and one shield (max damage 3 or 6), no diversity at all. Then suddenly every one of them designed their M3-7 ships, all of them filled with massdrivers and one shield (max damage 2-3).
So basically, every one of them downgraded their designs. Note that I was the only one that had done some missile defense research.

The only bug I've noticed, and it's been happening ALOT, is that when I create a new ship and it is set to autolaunch to a rally point it doesnt show on the map until it's moved. For instance if I have a new transport created and it launches and I go to the planet that launched it, I just won't see anything. If I know what square it should be in I can click it and it becomes visible, but otherwise it doesn't show up for a turn.

I am playing a metaverse game with the following settings:

After playing around 2 years into the game it crashes to desktop. Reloading from the autosave results in CTD after playing 2-3 turns so its easy to reproduce. I can provide the savegame file if that helps.

Other than what's already mentioned, and the CTDs due to "ship not in fleet" or "path too long" errors....

AIs are occasionally building mining starbases where there are no resources. Confirmed by buying the starbase off them and comparing race stats before and after - no change to any of the stats.

Also, the PQ resetting to base value on reload is still happening (and really annoying after a CTD, when you've optimised all your planets with the correct number of farms for their current PQ to suddenly see it drop by 3 on the reload).

Advanced farming still only gives 8 MT food (same as intensive farm), and the pre-requisite techs for Extended and Ultra farming are still missing - meaning it's impossible to build the improvements.

I don't know, if I would really call this a bug, but the AI seems to be lot more aggressive, for my feeling even too aggressive...In all my last games, they have declared war on me within teh first 100 turns (and nearly all of them), only because I don't have the biggest fleet out there...
I think the Ai doesn't take Military base into account, as I normally build now one Military base with lots of modules, so that my fleet gets nearly unbeatable in the area of the base...
and the computer starts to waist fleet after fleet against my fleet, without getting one hit through and leaves the starbase completly alone, even so the starbase is much weaker than my fleet with offensive and defensive boni...

So to come back to the point...Get the Ai a little more in the way of it aggressiveness than in the pre 1.1

Oh and finally one last point(also mentioned in the review of the german magazine Game Star, where you by the way only got 62/100, you should have send them more money )
Get the placement of the races a little bit more equal through the galaxy, most of the time I've at least more than one neighbour just from the start and I can only in about one of three games (medium, abundant habitable planets, occasional planets, occasional stars) find a second system before the computer has colonized all systems, playing on tough.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just user ignorance, but I can't seem to upgrade or decommission ships when they are in the same sqare as other ships (be it stacked or in a fleet). To upgrade/decommission a ship I have to remove it from the fleet, move it one square away, and then I FINALLY get the Upgrade or Destroy(?) buttons on the left side of the ship view panel.
