STICKY: Glitch Report v1.1 BETA

Something we miss?

The 1.1 beta does have some known glitches.  Feel free to join the party though and tell us what you've found. ;)

We need:

1) The top of your debug.err in your directory (the part that gives system info).

2) A description of the bug.

3) How to reproduce if applicable.

Campaign UI is still diffucult to use with multiple campaigns available.

I still cannot scroll down in the 'Description' portion of a planet's tile. Not the building, but the tile itself (bonuses, etc.)

I'm unsure if this is a hardware problem.

Senors ability upgrade after Sensors I not present.

Meaning, Sensors I gives +1 sensors, but Sensors II, III, and IV do not give any.
lol, we don't care about what your problem is unless you have 2 save slots, a debug.err, and more then two sentences that include no ramblings what so ever
Reply #5 Top
When you load a custom race that you previously saved, the abilities are wrong.

Let's keep this to bugs please.  We'll make a "wish list" thread after 1.1 is out.

If a planet has an empty social production queue, when selecting an improvement the build time is listed as 'Never.'
When you click 'build' for the improvement it's entered into the queue with an absurdly long build time (was going to take 60wks to build a xeno lab on my homeworld), it seems to return to the correct build time after the first turn though.

Freidog, have you considered your tax rate?

Production goes up and down now according to your popularity, I believe.

Sorry, it was one of the first things I could check. Ok would this be a bug? It doesn't crash the game but it's an inherent problem.
Using randomize oponents overrides the default opponents setup for scenarios. Same for custom map games, though that wouldn't have the same severe problem as a scenario with specific win/lose conditions.
My global tax rate is 100%, sliders are 33% each for soc/mil/research.
Let me amend that a bit, just exiting the planet screen and returning fixes the time in the build queue. But with the social build queue empty I always get a build time of "Never" when browsing the improvements list.

I am unable to view any of the autopilot lines, constructor area of effect, and even any of the trade route lines. And yes, they are activated in the options menu. Nothing too serious, just something I was looking forward to just didn't work the way I hoped it would. Also, is there any chance where there may be a feature for getting through proxies? Everything else appeared great. Nice work Stardock, you all need to go on a vacation... somewhere warm and not in Michigan... because Michigan is lame.

It looks like your messing around with some files. I think you might have to reinstall the game

I haven't touched any of the files in the game... although I will give it a try if Stardock can't come up with anything better...

If the admins would just delete the bug reports that don't have the proper credentials, maybe some of these people would learn to submit a proper bug report, like tasty gerbil.

Some 'bugs' are minor issues that are often overlooked. Why would they need my debug log for the sensors issue? This is a universal problem. I haven't checeked if it is cosmetic only (yet) however.
This is a bug that existed in 1.0x too. You can make your Flagship go off and find all Anomolies in range, seen or not.

I've been able to reproduce it rather constantly. What you do is give your flagship orders to both Auto Survey and Auto Explore. After it checks the ones it can see, it will give you the 'all done' message for surveying and go off on auto explore. If you then bring up the detailed command window and select Auto Survey again, it will start bee-lining to all anomolies in range, explored or not. Once the ship went thru a worm hole, and then set a course automatically back into my space, targetted on a unexlored anomaly. It will keep on going after unseen anoms until there are no more left in range.
I believe the survey ability is a "feature" since switching between scout + survey sucks. It really makes the early game less of a hassle
Reply #18 Top
Not entirely sure if this is a "bug"
but after messing around with a ship component (VERY cool btw), if you add another component the previous component's orientation is saved....

so cool.... Im gonna mess with that some more....

I have the same problem.

Similarly, I've found that the social production bonus ability doesn't work. I enabled and disabled it, and got the same build times for all of my starting improvements.

There is also an issue in which the turn button will change to the image it gives while processing a turn, but there will be ships that have to be moved before the turn wil actually process.

Ship builder: Odd glitch where after placing life support on a Yor Cargo hull, resizing function is inverted... havent tried it with other hulls yet...

edit: Also occurs with tiny Yor hull

Also, Resizing Ion Engine on both above hull types results in a change of direction of the engine (not an issue with the two earlier drives)

This appears to be a boundbox problem. If you hover over the down arrow key and move slightly to the right and down, you can move the description down in the text box. It seems like nothing more than a bad set of x,y coordinates defining the box.

I received a message that I needed to restart galciv2, but the options requiring restart was blank.

Recreate by: Enter options, click the Mods Checkbox, click it again (so there should be no change to options), then go to main menu.

Here is my info, just in case:

I have "Base Hulls" design for each hull type. No components just hull and items from the "extra's" tab using the"Battle of God's schenario. This was done to make sure that all of my hulls were the same.

Previously 1.0x I could not see the base hull designs for the hulls that i have not research and could not build. This is obviously desired.

Now v1.1 Beta I can see the base type hulls even for those with a hull size i have not yet researched. Meaning i can see the Battleship hulls, i can upgrade them and also build them before i have researched that hull.

I had a drop to desktop crash, and it drops to desktop if I reload from Autosave (because I experience frequent crashes, I set my autosave to run every turn).
