I am starting to hate this game

have been tring to play the campaign game but once the damn dread lords show up everytime i finish building or buying a ship they show up with battleship and sit park there and kill everything i make then invade. lose every time. and I can't get enought time to reaserch techs......... and by the freaking way if this is a campaign game and each level is directly related to the preveous one then why do I always have to start over in the tech's ? why can't each one i reaserch follow me ? ahhhhh never mind just never let a computer game beat me before this one and it's not right I tell you

The fact that researchs don't "follow" you trough missions annoy many persons including me. Me too it was the first time saw a hard game campaign , even on cakewalk.

Suggestions:
-Ease up on the difficulty level.
-After initial expansion, don't make any ships EXCEPT fast, cheap 1 damage interceptors (to take out incoming troop trannies).
-Keep on teching to Planetary Invasion.
-If the DL's take a planet near you (or from you), GREAT! Just start pumpin out your own troop trannies and take it back. This way, you are more likely to acquire an advanced tech that will level the playing field.

- Keep trying.

Assistant Starbases, ones that boost nearby ship's power, are very helpful, and you can litterally take on dreadnaughts with a fleet of 3 medium hulled ships. Just be sure to attack first.

FYI, you dont have to win each level in order to move on.

Also, for a while, before you can pump out strong enough ship on your own to stand-up to the dread lords, build Kamikaze ships. I.E. Cargo Hul ship equipped with a few engines and load of weapon (don't waste money on defense). Then use those "Large" hull ship (but way more economic) to hunt down in pack the dread lords. I had 2 or 3 fleet of kamikaze at about 10-15dmg each to kill down a Dreadnough but since the dread lords are real slow to build them back (they mostly build escort or frigate ship), it should help. watch the health of the enemy ship and try to attack no defend.

I say to use cargo even with 1 hp since one hit from any of their will kill any of your ships (at least at first)

The campaign is such that if you "Turtle" too much the Dread Lords will spank you. That is build up and keep researching. Try to get a faster jump on them, Binnister makes some great suggestions.

can't each one i reaserch follow me ?

Cause someone will just research everything in the first level and then complain about the game being too easy.

I guess that's why there should be a cap on research..

Oh, but just cause the ships in THIS part of the galaxy get the cool uber weapon doesn't mean the ships in a totally different part of the galaxy would get the weapon too.

I personally just cheat. lol

i don't see any fun in challenges, its more fun to win no matter the cost. >

Yeah, hate the game because it's good. I'd understand if it were cheating, but this? Try turning down the difficulty, and if that isn't enough then look around for advice and strategies to try. There are a lot of them out there.

There is a very simple way to counter the “planet camping” tactic.

1. DO NOT BUILD ANY SHIPS
2. Build farms. A lot of them. Research farm techs. This way it will be much harder to invade you.
3. Research hull techs.
3. Research one type of weapons to the max (missiles are my fav)
4. Build a massive ship (just one)
5. Obliterate them

Simple enough.

Don't play the campaign. I don't. I really enjoy the main game though.
