Only evil players out there?

Just taking a slight glance at everyone that posts in the form...
Most everyone that I see has some kind of evil rating. Is there any "good" players out there?

Yes, I am a goody-goody... the sort of annoying person that always gets "Lawful Good" on D&D alignment tests. (Or at least Neutral Good.)

In all seriousness, I tend to be a Diplomatic/Cultural and defensive sort of player, and being Good (or sometimes Neutral) makes that easier, I find.

Peace & Luv, Liz

I usually switch it up game to game. My last game I was Evil the one before that I was Neutral. In the game i'm playing now which has all the races enabled on a huge map i am playing as good.

I felt like not even God could touch me when i had psionic beam equiped ships

I always play as neutral... Just love the moral and the PQ (terraforming) bonus.

I used to be good, but then I had a game where I hit 3 or 4 planet quality events in a row, and I just couldn't resist the temptation to get +40ish percent planet quality on some already nice planets. I decided that since I was already most of the way there, might as well see what being evil felt like. And it felt good (err... I mean it felt great). Then I found the psionic beam in my research tree, and now I'm addicted. I just can't get enough of that thing. The whine as it fires, the horrified screams over the communicator as the enemy ship dies... its intoxicating. Makes you feel like a god.

I think we need to set up an Evil AA group or something. "Hi, I'm Whillowhim, and I'm a Psionic Beam addict."

Hoo-ray. Its hard to be good for me. I end up selling my soul off for PQ usually.. or some other juicy bonus. 25% of the time I pick Yor/Drengin and plan on going evil.

I salute all you good players. It's hard to do, well hard for me anyway.

Neutral for life, baby. The fact that I don't need any terraforming tech once I get Xeno Ethics makes it a priority.

I tend toward the good choices also. I like trying to win with little or no military.

I have tried all of them, looked at the feel and the benefits of each, and I am leaning toward neutral once they get neutrality learning center fixed.

I am chaotic good, sometimes....

Interestingly, the last gigantic map game I played I was pure eveil and got some great planet bonuses, I figured I would have no choice but to take the dark way since when choice time came around the cost of changing would be too high.

When I researched ethics I was surprised to see that neutral was available to me for a lousy 2500bc. Since by that time I had over 50K I went for the neutral planet upgrades.

Seems strange that you can do all those nasty things and then buy back your reputation for so little. I could have bought pure good for a couple of thousand more.

Yeah, the "buy your alignment" makes no sense...

Lol, i'm Neutral (even tho a majority of my games are evil) i LOVE the Evil only Missile weapon (forgot name).....Any evil Empires outthere? =P

By the way, getting the Yor to a good alignment (through events) is tough!

I like my friendly Yor though... "Share and Enjoy!"

how can you tell your alignment?

I wish you could set your leaning for a custom race, so if you research Xeno Ethics Early, you can pick that alignment for free. right now I'm good in a gigantic galaxy with Dreadlords on parade, but I'm still going for the conquest victory. Can't ever seem to be able to be diplomatic, I just like shooting things . although, I do Ally with a lot of players, allowing me to focus on one at a time. And the Hall of empathy = t3h r0x0r5. Anyway, all are good choices, depends on play style. So stop complaining...
j/k

Does the Hall of Empathy actually work? I built that last game I played- and the races I was at war with surrended to my allies instead of me...

Had the same thing when i went neutral -- for this improvment and the terraforming.

I'll go back to my PsyBeams and free influence modules.

I have been good every game that I have played so far.....but I have this military urge to scratch and it's difficult to scratch when you are good - know what I mean?

Anyway, cultural and diplomatic victories are all well and good.......but oh so boring.......

i would love to be good, and i try, but free starbase upgrades, i just cant pass up usually. my next game i will be good though, because my empire is trying to compare all the evil weapon stats against the good defensive stats to see what works better. if you'd like to help or have any info join the colonial fleet and let us know!

True, but the alignment system itself makes no sense. Various alien races, for one, are not going to share a universal morality system. Furthermore, moral considerations are not a rational or realistic basis to shape foreign policy, be it "Good" or "Evil."

I choose evil if I'm fighting for my life and neutral if I want my economy to boom.

That's what it comes down to, no?

Good = Diplomacy
Neutral = Economy
Evil = War

I tend to go for military vistory so I preffer evil :/ Thou if I were to play a different style, I'd probably go neutral. You cans till have nice military victory on neutral, but it's not as compatible because the extra trade routes dont get really any use if you are at war with everyone.
