Problem with rotation using mouse

I installed the game on my 8 year old son's computer, since he liked watching Dad create cool spaceships. He actually has a pretty good rig, but I am unable to use the depressed mousewheel button to allow for rotation of the image during shipbuilding (or even to rotate the map). He has essentially the same mouse I do (Logitech MX 510) which works fine othrwise and in other programs. The scrolling function also works fine.

Without rotation capability, we can't build ships. Ideas?

Done a forum search on "logitech" and found:

"On the logitech control panel or mouse properties it should have number 6 as universal scroll.Change it to middle mouse in the buttons/modify section."

Means: the scroll whee must be configured as middle button. Galciv uses middle button to rotate. Maybe that helps.

You can also use the rotate icons in the shipbuilders upper right corner to rotate the view.

I use a logitech as well, and had a lot of trouble along the same lines. Go to your mouse control menu (from the system tray) and select your roller press-button. Set its status to 'general' key ( I think that's it, not at home atm). That will release the button from the mouse's default use of it and enable other programs to define it differently.

I have this problem as well. It will come back from time to time even after doing what they said above, but when it does I just need to reboot, and it works again.

THANK YOU!!!!

I had problem with my logitech MX1000 for a long time, middle mouse worked in some games, but lot games it didnt, even tho the setpoint was set to standard mouse configurations

if i had know about the other way setting it up i would been able to use it long ago instead of binding a alternative to one of its many buttons lol
