A small in-game funny ..

Playing the Drengin last nite, just to see how the evil half lives ...

I'm doin the warlord thing, taking on whatever happens to be encroaching in my territory and it just so happens the Andians are first on my hit list - they were fairly close to my home world.

So I stock up on a few standard Star Furies and send them over while my Troopship gets built. The Star Furies arrive first so I park them for a turn or two while the troops get ready and I get this message from the Carinoids ..

(paraphrased) " Don't think I don't see what you're doing. This isn't some video game where you can just get away with this sort of thing..."

Funny thing about that is I hadn't even seen the Carinoids yet, much less have any ships near them Somehow I think that was supposed to be the Andians

Yeah, I recieved a similar message from the AI that said "Dont think I dont know what you're doing, if my intelligence level was set at max I would send my generals out to crush you."

Yeah, the Akilians declared war on me because I was "Parking transports" near them. When I finally found them, it was after another race surrendered to me and only when I had a ship with 3 sector range search for them. The AI gets VERY paranoid (when I'm not even within 4 sectors of their territory). However, I was near the Carinoids. Maybe theres an AI reaction mix up? And I was a good Terran Civ too...

I have had this problem numerous times. I have one theory that they consider their starbases bases like planets. Even the major races. So if you are bunched up beside one of them they think you are going to invade thier home. And believe me, they are not too good for thier home. Anyway, since minor races spam influence bases all over creation, then there is a chance there is one close by to one of your ships and maybe you don't even realise it. Just a thought.

There's some Star Trek related humour in there as well.

Try playing as Spock, and if you're luck's in, the AI will greet you with......"I suppose I should be asking for your autograph".

Nice work there guys!

My favorite line so far was the Drengin declaring war on me: "All your base are belong to us."

Of course I mopped the floor with him, as he completely underestimated my power. (this was on Intellegent though.)
