We've got a ton of new features, tweaks, and enhancements in store for v1.1.  For casual players, the AI plays easier on lower levels.  For expert strategists, the AI has gotten a significant overhaul in tactics across the board.

We've made a ton of tweaks both large and small based on player feedback.  Little things like the selected ship showing the auto pilot path it's on to bigger changes like no tech trading options, fleet managers, tons of "glitch fixes", an enhanced ship design option, and much more.

The Beta will be on Stardock Central so you'll need to grab that if you haven't already from the Downloads section. 

I think people will be surprised at how significant some of the improvements are, especially for how short of a time the game has been out.  We'll have a full development log put together soon. It's going to be long - longer than originally planned.

The beta won't be the full feature set we mentioned previously as we added other things along the way (streamlined economic engine, no social wastage, bunch of other things).  Stay tuned! !FROGCARE!

Be prepare just in case it's not compatible between versions (saves).
AND since the betas not here yet, gives you time to finish them.

Now I understand that sentence.

"The Beta will be on Stardock Central so you'll need to grab that if you haven't already from the Downloads section."

It means that we will need to download Stardock Central if we already haven't, not that we can use it if we haven't already downoaded the Beta from the download section.

I have to say the more I play this game the more I love it... and I have hooked at least 5 other people that I know personally onto this game.

You guys are a crack group... need more devs?

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks and um... (hopefully I dont get flamed like usual) but going to put in the 'ol "We would LOVE a multiplayer patch"

Are you going to fix the entertainment improvement bug? You know, the one where more advanced happiness improvements don't actually help, thus making the control of approval more difficult than it needs to be?

You mean the bug that already has been fixed in the latest patch?


What's new in 1.0X(.1)

+ Fixed Planetary improvements: Virtual Reality Center and Stock Exchange to be better.

Just to make sure I understand; The beta won't be the full feature set ...
means that there will be more features with the actual 1.1 release, correct? If that's the case, I'm pretty darn impressed.


Could also mean that the list for 1.1 will not entrely be done in the 1.1 beta and you need to wait for 1.1 to get all the stuff listed there

Hi Yellonet - no worries, I don't think its up quite yet. Stardock indicated that 1.1. beta would be coming out this week, but did not say exactly when. Last I checked it was not up on my Stardock either (1:30 pm EST 3/23/06). Just need to wait a little bit longer

In the Race Set up screen, you are supposed to be able to click on the technology tab and spend 200 points customizing your races starting technology. No matter how I start a game, this feature is not available. Why?

Link = the Preview journal entry. Considering how long their list of items is and the comment that the list is not all inclusive, I'm ok with the beta not having everything in it.

I never found Blizzard's support all that special. Before Stardock, Paradox's support was what I considered best in the games industry. Paradox and Stardock are about even in supporting the customers- I'd give Stardock a slight edge.

According to Stardock Central, the update is NOW...about to give it a shot in actual play.
