BETA version of v1.1 THIS WEEK!

Things moving fast...

We've got a ton of new features, tweaks, and enhancements in store for v1.1.  For casual players, the AI plays easier on lower levels.  For expert strategists, the AI has gotten a significant overhaul in tactics across the board.

We've made a ton of tweaks both large and small based on player feedback.  Little things like the selected ship showing the auto pilot path it's on to bigger changes like no tech trading options, fleet managers, tons of "glitch fixes", an enhanced ship design option, and much more.

The Beta will be on Stardock Central so you'll need to grab that if you haven't already from the Downloads section.

I think people will be surprised at how significant some of the improvements are, especially for how short of a time the game has been out.  We'll have a full development log put together soon. It's going to be long - longer than originally planned.

The beta won't be the full feature set we mentioned previously as we added other things along the way (streamlined economic engine, no social wastage, bunch of other things).  Stay tuned! !FROGCARE!

You guys are incredible. Your dedication to this game is just so awesome! Are you going to take a day off soon?

You mention the AI being weaker on low settings and tougher on high ones, where are you drawing a line there? That is, what will the impact on settings like "normal" or "challenging" be? Harder? Easier? About the same?

Love the game, and thanks so much for the fast and extensive updating.

Brad & Co. - my kudos as well for a great game that is getting better! Very glad to see some economic rewards coming your way as well - much deserved!

One quick question/worry - the "streamlined" economic engine won't mean simplified/dumbed down, correct?

Thanks in advance.

There's no such thing as normal working hours for programmers, especially in the game industry.

I am an old gamer and have never been so impressed with an operation like this before. All I can say is thank you.

Later, got to get work done so I can try to beat those damn Terrans.

They keep the programmers chained to their desks

You're an amazing company, Stardock. Comparatively speaking, you're the Google of gaming. Keep innovating!

In the new Game Informer (which has a Dread Lords review you should check out, btw), the opening statement of the MGS3: Subsistence review really sums up what we all think about Stardock. You make other companies that DO care about their games still seem "embarrassingly inadequate." I can brag about this operation all day long and not run out of good, factual support. I wish they gave reviews for companies cause you guys would get all the stars.
