Does Omega Research Center work?

After building the Omega Research Center apparently nothing happens. The planet its built upon doesnt increase any research, nor do my other planets....

Am I missing something...?

P.S. Should the Omega research center influence research empirewide or just on the planet its built upon?

The Omega Research Centre only works on a planetary scale. You can se the 50% to research in the details windows of the planet where it is build. Whether or not it actually works I don't really know. I have always assumed it did work - as you only see the total amount of research done on the planets and not how this number is calculated, it is difficult to say exactly. IIRC in version 1.1 there will be added a feature that allows you to see how the different numbers are calculated.

Well, I know Technological Centers don't give the 100% bonus as stated in their fluff text... maybe all research bonuses are similarly screwy.

Before building it I had 232 research. After building it I have 254.

I would have been better off building another discovery sphere...

I would think it depends on your economy, silders, and crap. But I'm propably wrong!

I think the percentile based research bonuses are all a little screwy currently. For example, from what I understand the race/government research bonuses only do half of what they say etc etc.
