I can not change weapon/armor types on core ships?.?

Only core ships can be created to have specific weapon/armor.?.

Yeah, core ships cannot be upgraded. However, you can simply create an entirely new ship of your own and add whatever you want to it.

I havent seen 1 core ship thats any good anyway
your better off just making yout own ships

it would be cool as heck if the core ships would automatically be upgraded with new engines and weapons and stuff as you research improvements..

I have to admit, I was really surprised to find out that the core designs don't upgrade automatically. This renders them almost completely useless after the first few turns.

I was also surprised to see that you can't select one of the core ships and make an upgrade version with that hull. Sometimes I don't want to do a new design, just stick on some engines and go. And, this feature would give the core ships a reason to exist after you've researched better engines.

And finally, I really wish that you could select an existing ship, click upgrade, and have it start with all of the modules you added last time. Sometimes I just want to switch engines without bothering with cargo modules, etc. again.
