AI and Cultural Victory

The rules say that in order to win a cultural victory you have to have 75% of the galactic culture for 10 turns and you can't be at war. So why doesn't the AI immediately attack you if you have 75% culture? It wouldn't be fun but that's what I'd do in it's position.

Does the AI ever try to win without destroying everyone?

It wouldn't be fun...

There's your answer. If a game stops being fun, why play? =D If the AI declared war every time you controlled 75%+ of the galaxy, what's the point of leaving that victory condition enabled?

I found the cultural victory to be way too easy lol. It was my first game to get past about 2 years of the game and I had 87% of the entire map under my influence when the game ended. No one ever even thought of firing a shot. 6 other civs + 1 minor. I was amazed that during that game the AIs started giving me stuff lol. There was never a war in the entire game between anyone, though there were rumours the minor was paying off the Tolians to leave them alone...

This was at the 'Normal' Difficulty level on a normal map. Too low a level to start at I guess. I just spammed Influence bases all around the map and ate into everyone's territory until I got the 75%+...it only took 1.5 years game time and about 3 hours real time from when I started to try the Culture victory to when I won the thing. - it was too easy imho... Oh well, at least I guess it got me hooked and I'll start my next game in the morning
