Playing CIV4 and really enjoying how religion influence the game mechanics of this game i was thinking if the introduction of a similar aspect could be done in gc2.
Political parties in this game and racial abilities have a comparable effect that civics and leader bonus give in CIV4 (probably in gc2 we have more choices than in CIV4), but there isn't a comparable aspect to religion in this game, which in my opinion is a very strong point in civ4.Introducing ideologies or cultural views that can be spreadable from race to race don't you think could be very interesting in terms of gameplay?Ideologies or cultural views should give some bonuses and also influence diplomacy.In a single planet there could be followers of more than 1 ideology and this can influence morale or planetary invasions, (for example planets with followers of more than 1 ideology could be more easily conquerable with information warfare) also a planet with more than 1 ideology should produce more influence points and have some bonuses.
Clearly CIV4 and GC2 are very different in a lot of ways but why not introduce and transform in GC2 a really strong point of another game?What do you think?
