Race starting abilities

One thing i haven't understood is if i start a game with all races that have default race abilities when the game is begun will they have the default abilities or will they get also other abilities because they used the so called remaining points?

It's complicated.

If you choose to visit the 'abilities' tab on the race selection screen in order to customize that race's abilities (and therefore make use of the remaining ability points) you will immediately loose any inate racial ability to which you cannot allocate ability points. AFAIK, this is everything but Logistics and Miniaturization. (Ergo, the Yor are by far the strongest race, as one can customize that race with 10 ability points and STILL keep their inate Logistics and Miniturization bonus.)

Note that, in order to get back to the 'classic' ability points configuration for a race for which you have previously customized via the 'abilities' tab, you must delete CurrentCustomRace0.raceconfig in the root of your 'mydocs' GalCiv2 folder.

Does that make sense? It look me a lot of reading to figure it out for myself.

Makes no senco to me. Hope stardock clarify this. This races and this strange behavior for the abilitzies is major buggy.

Some races lose special abilities like the drath +50% defence or the yor +100% loyality some races don't have an ability. I'm still not sure for what i could change abilites on standard races. I can even reset the abilities and set new and still have a normal race played (instead of a custom) for metaverse issues. Very weird...
