What's the best 1 point ability?

Hello all!

When starting I've been sticking to "big ticket" abilities (economics, social/military prod, research...occasionally mixing things up with additional speed or a PQ bonus) and habitually I've wound up with a spare point and some choices I've never thought were as good as the others. Being that I've stayed away from things like luck, courage, etc, I was interested in your opinions on what you think is the best 1 point "investment" in Galciv2.

My extra point always goes into "Morale". Morale means higher populations of happiness and more population means more income. To me morale is the 2nd economic choice. I always put 3 points into Economy.

Creativity allows you to spontaneously finish whatever you're researching instantly.

Even when I got it, though, it only happened once in the game.

Perhaps luck bonuses improve it?

I've used creativity as well, but I'm not 100% sure it actually does something.
Would be a good thing to hear an official word about it!

Luck and abundant anomolies. Lotsa 500, 750, 1000, 2500 BC anomolies - great for the early game.
Still haven't got a ranger yet, though.

I've noticed with my creative that I do occationally get a tech before my reaserch was done. Happens more than once a game, but often when i have 3 or less weeks untill completeion anyway.

Luck- you get more bonus tiles on planets and a greater likelyhood of random colonization events. I never play without it.

Try putting 8 points and getting +2 Speed for all your ships. This can make the early colonizing real easy, and it leaves you more room for weapons on your ships since they won't need engines.
With a single 2 speed engine, my entire fleet moves at least 6 parsecs a week.

Luck is extremely powerful for 1 point.... too powerful some might say!

I'd put it in either Morale (depending on what other bonuses you've got) or Soldiering.... no one seems to rate this highly but my races always have a nice bonus in this area and funnily, I never lose planets!
