Wasted Turns

Hey All,

Im not exactly a noob anymore I dont think, been playing for about 2 weeks and I have a couple victories under my belt... But in all of my games so far I've found myself just passing turns, waitng for the research to finish or for a building to be done on one of my colonies. Is there something that I'm missing which requires attention every turn or is it just because I've been playing medium/small maps and haven't had enough planets to keep me busy? Plus im just starting to venture into the harder difficulties... any thoughts?

I dont know about other players, but there are times where I'll hammer on the turn button to quickly pass through 3-4 weeks (in-game weeks, mind you), mostly if im at the cusp of a new technology, or if nothing important needs my attention. There's probably SOMTHING you could be tweaking, optimizing, or messing with, but in my experience sometimes it just makes more sense to skip to the next turn

I think it's nice when I can just click the Turn button. It means I didn't have to micromanage that turn.
