question about Collector's Edition

I just recently ordered my copy of the standard edition from ebgames since none of the stores around here had it in stock. And I was wondering if I could DL the Collector's Edition content even though I only had the standard version. Thanks in advance for your time.

I'm 95% sure you can. I think since there was some confusion when the game was released (some retailers didn't specify CE in their preorders) so everyone can download the CE content. I ordered the direct download version of the game on the release date and got the CE.

I just received my copy of GalCiv2 from StarDock and it is the CE version of the game. I contacted StarDock prior to ordering from them and asked them what version of the boxed game I would get and was told by their sales department that it would the CE and that they thought that they would be shipping out the CE version for "the next couple of weeks". (NOTE: I placed my order on March 10th and received my boxed copy today via USPS.) I strongly recommend contacting Stardock and asking them what they're shipping out if you have a preference. They're pretty quick when it comes to replying to e-mail and you might be able to call them directly. Just refer to the Contact page on StarDock.com.

I believe that 'pokerface2012' is largely correct, except that I believe what was actually said is that all first-run regular boxed versions would be able to download the CE -exclusive content, as well as all copies bought directly from StarDock. Again, I strongly recommend contacting Stardock and asking them this.
