Bug: Constructor speed

Last game the UP passed a resolution that raised the constructor base speed to 3. Instead of having my constructors having a base speed of 3, their speed became fixed to 3 parsecs/week regardless of extra engines.

So my 'fast' constructors with 4 impulse engines (which should move at 9 parsec/wk) move at 3 parsec/wk. I think what should be happening is that my constructor should be able to move 11 parsec/wk (3+2+2+2+2).

no, that resoultion restricts the min, not the max. i never noticed that bug, though i don't recommend adding 3 parsecs to all constructors just because of the resolution. the UP law is supposed to make building slow constructors illegal, if you actually read it. there is a similar one for frieghters. i don't remember seeing this bug though

I've always worried about this bug happening to me on this resolution, so I always vote no on them:)

On a side note, why oh why does the global council pass such worthless resolutions some of the time? For example, restricting SURVEYING does nothing because all the anamolies (even at max) are taken up before the first year...

I really think the council should have about 30 more different scripts. Mostly they need to benefit good and penalize neutral or something. It would provide a bonus to people who played 'good'. I know when I"m playing evil and the "restrict evil trade routes" resolution passes, I research xeno ethics asap and switch to neutral. If I'm already evil w/ ethics, well it's time for war:)

I'm playing a gigantic game with abundant anomalies and 5 AI. It's been quite a few years already and i'm still finding anomalies, though i've almost cleared them all i think. The only survey ship you start with is your slow flagship. I researched sensors pretty early and i'm still the only race with survey ships.

Try designing a new constructor ship class (name it something else). I had the same thing happen to me on a recent game and having my constructors go from 10parces/wk down to 4 was a bit of a shock. I designed a new constructor class and the bonus was then applied correctly.

This "bug" hasn't popped up everytime I have had that resolution passed though.

Also it would be nice if anomolies where randomly generated, it would give the galactic guide book wonder some meaning... Maybe if you tied ethical events to the anomolies as well...

"You have found a semi-sentient deep space race"

"Establish diplomatic relations" + 1 diplomacy - Good
"Leave them be" + 1 research - Neutral
"They happen to taste good..." +5 Morale - Evil

Etc....

i had simlar bug, my speed 8 constructions was limited to speed of 4 after the resolution.

As for the anomlies, i think they should periodically appear after the intial distribution, ie even after all the anomlies have been cleared and few new ones will appear as the game progresses.

more varation would be nice, random event type thing also be a nice addtion to anomlies

Do it yourself. My council has a few more scripts, mostly along the lines of "give the poor people tech/money" like the ones already there, but better. And I made the planet one more common

I just lost a chitty vote from the UP sorry bassturds. Something about "listening to the citizens of individual planets, will increase production at a cost of MORALE"!! The sorry dog game checked how I was playing, then made up a UP rule to thwart it and had enough AI players vote in favor of it. Who in their right mind would vote for a morale LOSS in favor of a little increase in production? Saddam Hussain? Even the GOOD players voted for this pos THREE YEAR rule!!!! haha Just because I'm 1st in the game doesn't mean it has to cheat me with stupid UP votes like this. So, if I leave the UP do I still have to put up with silly rules like this?
