Future Update-Ship Recycle?

First of all, I just want to say that this is my first turn-based game and I think this game ROCKS. I'm well into my second game (they have been gargantuan affairs lasting at least six hours each -beginner level) and the thought occured to me that a ship recycle feature would come in handy in times of war. Getting money for a freighter that's no longer in use (at, say, 30-50% of cost depending on level of difficulty) would not be unrealistic in my opinion. The ship in question would not be salvaged until it had arrived back at its' point of origin. Money can be a good thing.
By the way, this is the game I would bring to the proverbial "island in the middle of nowhere". Great work, Stardock.

I think you can already decomission ships. It doesn't bring in much money though.

Yes, it is already possible. A colony ship brings in 20 or 25 BC. Not much, but it helps sometimes.

He does bring up a valid point. What happens to the freighter on a trade route if/when that trade route is discontinued (i.e., when you go to war with a civ you were formerly trading with)? Seems a waste if the transport simply disappeared.

Once you establish the route, those freighters are supposedly owned by super-corps, not by your goverment. I assume that the super-corps repurpose them.
