Memory usage

I play on gigantic maps, and have found the game get pretty slow. Does any know if going from 512 to 1024 M ram will help ? I'm suprised the requirements say only 128.

Also ship combat can be slow - halting, and then quickly catch up. Is this memory, video card, or a driver issue ?

Think the game has a memory problem personally, find that restarting helps a lot. (even though quitting the game can take 5 minutes...lol)

More RAM will definitely help. I'm running a 512 MB system and my page file usage peaks at around 1.1 GB when playing just on a large map. That's probably why things slow down: there's so much data that alot gets shunted into virtual memory -- which is, of course, a heck of alot slower than RAM.
