MiniMap Autopilot and Ship Moves
Was the GC1 automap better?

Question for y'all.
I remember when I played GC1, say I told a bunch of ships to go to some location(s) across the map, then I hit 'end turn'.
What would happen is that as each ship dot moved in the normal map display, the corresponding dot would also move on the minimap. Plus the window indicator would also move, so I could see which part of the galaxy I was looking at. (I think... am I making up this last part???)
In GC2, it looks like you hit 'end turn', then ALL the ships move (main window follows them), THEN the minimap updates.
I liked the GC1 way of doing things because as I watched the ship move on the large display, I could see the moving dot and the selected view window on the minimap, and I knew exactly where in the galaxy this was happening. In GC2, I see a ship move but if there aren't a lot of other familiar objects on the screen for reference, sometimes I'm not always sure where I'm looking. Especially if it's like, an enemy ship closing on a yellow star. I have to say to myself, ok, how many yellow stars do i have....?
Is anyone else experiencing this? Tell me that there's an option I forgot to turn on?
