Is the Eye of the Universe short-sighted?

After I built the "Eye of the Universe" galactic achievement, all of my ships got a "15 pc" sensors range. Then I projected a Probe ship with (according the stats reported in the ship builder interface) a sensors range of 28 pc. Surprise! The first I built had only a 15 pc sensors range.
Is this a bug, or it is intentional that the Eye of the Universe hinders the sensor range to extend beyond 15 pc?

I believe they capped sensor range to 15 pcs in a previous patch. Anything beyond that caused the game to become unstable on larger maps.

The game caps sensor range on ships to 15 parsecs.

And 15 parsec is enough in most cases because the computer dont do ships with engines.

I think he's asking if the Eye did it or not =P....and i think so....

The Eye didn't cap it to 15 parsecs, it's how it now works since the first patch. What the Eye does is give all ships 15 parsec range. So if you plan on getting the Eye, don't bother with sensors on ships.

Except i think there's a bug where if you have the eyes, and you build ships with no sensors, their guard funtion still only sees at the short range. Anyone else notice that ?
