What the heck is "Starship Bonus?"

I recently made one of those hard Good/Evil decisions, and ended up with a planet with a bonus: Starship +44%.

What does that get me? Shorter build times? Faster/stronger/better ships? Cheaper ships? I have no idea.

From when I had a planet like that, it looks like a bonus to attack. E.g. a ship with 10 attack will have 14 attack if produced on that planet.

It's bound to the planet, and I think it has to do with attack/defense values, maybe hitpoints. I've not played evil for a while and had a large bonus like that.

It is just like a Military Resource bonus, but local to that planet (I believe). It increases the attack and defense of any ships built there by the given %.

If you go evil and get Psy weapons (or just use Nano Rippers), you can make some *very* powerful ships relatively early in the game if you have a planet with a 50%+ starship bonus.

At least in the game I played, I'm fairly certain I was only getting the starship bonus on attack, not defence. My race had a +30% defence bonus, and I had +55% starship bonus on the planet. If I designed a 12/4-4-0 ship, it would come out 18/5-5-0. If I was getting the starship bonus on defence, it would be 18/7-7-0.

I said the same thing as Kryo did.

In fact, that's how I won my first Yor game... Psyonics with ~50% Starship bonuses on 2 seperate planets! Large hulls + Psyonics = Ownage.
