Organic Ships

Stuff I would like to see

Hi,

I would like it if advanced civilisations got access to hulls, jewels and components that looked organic.

Like the Dreadlords, or the Vorlons and Shadows from Babylon 5.

With Kryo's Hull System Mod I believe you can use the Dreadlord jewelery, etc. on your ships.

Phew. For a second i thought this was a thread demanding biowank technology. I'm all for more variety in hulls and jewelry - I think it'd be great if ships could be as distinctive as possible.

I definately think bioships should be some very advanced hulls. It would add an awesome dimension to the game. Maybe as a fourth type of armor with a fourth type of weapon to go along with making combat even better?

Yeah - mostly I like the look. To keep it consistent you would need any modules fitted to have an organic appearance, which presumably means the top few tiers of equipment in each category (e.g. weapons, engines) would need an organic look.

Something for an expansion pack?

finaly someone who thinks as i do organic ships rock i would love to have organic hulls as a advanced civ. I spend most of my posts asking for organic ships because they just look so cool, and actualy you would not need to have the modules look organic in the books of peter f hamilton the human race has organic ships but some things like crew cabins and weapons are not yet within our ability to grow as part of the ship so when it is fully grown they are strapped to the out side of the ship. if you where to use this design then you would not have to have organic textures for the weapons and modules.

Organic hulls would be cool content for an expansion. I'd add an organic weapon line rather than topping off all of the weapon lines with organic looking weapons, though. Cool idea.
