Social Production working?

Hey is it just a glitch in my game or has anyone else experienced the fact that the social production continues to use your money regardless of whether or not you are building anything? In the manual it says that the social production (hammers) should be in parentheses when no social products are queued up. The military (shields) do it when I don't have a ship in production and after checking the math, it is indeed not using any money. Am I just crazy?

Any feedback would be appreciated...oh in case someone already answered this, please direct me to it.

Serch on the word "Social" on the forums here and you wil find more than you could imagine.

There is some thought to reworking social production so it gets diverted to military production and refunded if no military projects are present. But as of right now its waste if your not building anything.......the manual is wrong.

Originally there was no waste planned. But then they realized that you can have massive changes in you spending e.g. when you research a tech wich gives you a new planet improvement. All planets on autobuild start building this improvement at once.

Unfortunately they took the worst solution and changed the game in the way that social spending is wasted again

It was suggested to bring up a pop up like

"You have discovered X which gives you the new improvement Y. N planets which did not build anything now start to build this new facility. This would reduce you weekly income to Z BC. Do you want the planets to start building?"


But the devs did not give us any feedback on this idea yet. So I suggest that we keep on asking.

Okay, thanks guys...i thought i had a bad install or something. The suggested pop-up sounds like a good solution although i think the resources should be diverted to pop growth while there is still room on the planet and then get diverted to research or something.

We'll see what the developers decide....again, thanks for the info.
