Possible odd AI behaviour

I just wanted to draw the devs attention to some possibly odd AI behaviour in case it helps with further AI development.

I'm playing the Terrans, and I've been monitoring a war between the Torrians on one side, and the Dregin and the mechanical guys on the other (although not allied - please forgive speliing and absent-mindedness regarding names). Now the Dregin invaded one Torrian planet, and the mechanical guys were closing on another two, but the Torrians surrendered to the Dregin before they hit. Its been 10-20 turns since the Torrian surrender, but three mechanical guy transports have remained parked a couple of parsecs from the former Torrian planets, and a long way from home. I wonder if they're stuck, AI logic-wise? (I'm playing at the Intellegent AI setting.)

If the devs are interested I have a saved game showing this.

I've seen this before. I would save the game and reload. See if they move then.

Sometimes I think its an actual glitche, other times its the AI just waiting to bounce again against an enemy.

Actually I think the AI forgets about the transports.

They do that with transports, freighters, scouts, etc.

I think that for the AI a War is like an on/off switch and when the war ceases the AI just leave alot of their ships just lying around. It's happened to me on more that one occasion on high AI settings.

I think it's something that needs to be looked at by the devs.

I have seen the AI after the initial colonization push sitting around with stacks and stacks of colony ships on certain planets. For all I know they may sell them off decades later, but usually they stick around until an invasion force knocks them out.
