What can we expect in next patch ?

I know Stardock has said here on the forum that it will take awhile until the next patch will get out and I understand that. What I would like to know though is what kind of improvements, AI fixes and bug fixes we could expect and if possible if the patch will be release within a month or later on.

I wonder why a dev right here on the forum, posted a reply to some dude like on friday or thursday saying that he would get a big preview up of all the cool stuff to expect from 1.1 by this weekend.
But, the weekend is over

I hope devs have given priority to tech whoring which is for me the biggest problem in this game.A patch which would include only a no tech trade option or tech trade allowed only between allies would be a lot more appreciated than AI improvements, or fixing minor bugs. Please devs find a solution to stop tech whoring!

Tech whoring is not a problem. Tech trading is one of the best things about this game, not the worst.

What would you horse trade instead? Shiitey ships? I found that if want a tech that you think you need, say chaff cause you found your enemies (percieved or real) have stingers, that you can trade for that. Sometimes the cost is way too high with some but if a minor has it you can get it cheap. Besides if you find the tech moving ahead too fast, just slow it down......

I wouldn't mind this option, although it might slow the game down considerably, as well as give a huge advantage to any Civ that got most of the planets on the initial 'land grab'.

One of the popular notions that I do not agree with is that the initial 'land grab' and your Civ's starting location automatically determine a win/loss for the player. The main reason I don't agree with this opinion is that there are other ways in which a player can improve his empire without having a million colonies (at least in the early game). Being able to tech trade gives the colonizing 'underdog' a chance to keep up in the research race--even pull ahead of other civs--which, in turn, gives him the ability to quickly build fully upgraded economic starbases (for the much needed money and production bonuses) and/or a small military (to take out any weak races nearby). Putting an end to early-game tech trading may give the rapid colonizer civs an insurmountable advantage.

I admit that, during the mid-to-late game, tech trading can seem a little 'hokey', especially if your civ is already a dominating power in the game. Minor races are only too happy to give you what you want (techs, money, etc.), so it's almost too easy to be ahead economically or with regard to research. If anything, I'd like to see civs (major and minor) exhibit more reservation about accepting techs for sale, or the trading of techs that would certainly not be in their best interest. I like the fact that civs will not trade military techs with you if you are a dominant military power already. But what about social techs? They seem to trade these without any problems.

Allied-only tech trading, especially in the late game, sounds like an interesting idea.

I once had a civ turn down trading a military tech to me because they said I did not have the spirit of a warrior.

So I blew them up.

So, with sales up above 70,000 at the last count, please provide the links to the 56000-63000 threads with people complaining about tech trading...

Frogboy posted yesterday that once all the fuss from being dugg and slashdotted calms down they'll post what they are planning/thinking about for future patches. Servers go "ouch" when slashdotted and dugg at the same time!
