Virtual Memory to low

Greetings,

My virtual meromy is set 1000MBs minimal 4000 maximal.
Latest ATI driver, latest patch to windows, latest drivers to everything.
I tried on 2 different computers same model, same brand (just the HDs are different)

How many of you have that problem occuring during games? It becomes quite annoying.

Thank you

I think that Windows always reports that virtual memory is too low when usuage goes above your minimum. My suggestion is simply to increase your minimum to at least 1.5 GB. I've found the game peaking at around 1.1 GB, for me.

If you look at some of the "tweak" sites, they reccomend setting the minimum and the maximum to the same number.

Here's what I have:
Two 36gb Raptors in RAID0 -- C Drive -- Very Fast
Two WD 120GB drives in RAID0 -- Split between D Drive and E Drive -- D is 10GB with a 5GB min/max pagefile.
1GB Kingston RAM

I haven't had any problems with running out of VM. I usually have 600MB of RAM available and have never seen more than 500MB of pagefile in-use.

Here's another idea:

Start>>Run>> "perfmon.msc"
Performance Object >> Memory || Select Counters From List >> Avaliable MBytes
Performance Object >> Paging File || Select Counters From List >> % Usage

Now, you can monitor how your memory and pagefile react when you play. If you play the game in a window, you can even watch real-time. I usually use a dual monitor setup and keep the Performance Monitor on the second monitor while I play a game in the primary monitor.

Anyway, you *should* be setting the min and max sizes to the same. That'll clear up most of your problems.
