Neutral alignment - missing research

from GalCiv2 Forums
I started a new game with 1.0x.10 and went the neutral path. The only neutral technology that gave me anything was neutral shipping (+10 trade, 3 trade routes). The Neutral Research Center gives no bonuses or buildings. I also have no additional weapons/defenses like the description says.

Hmmmm. That would explain why I don't see any additonal weapons or such - they aren't there.

Thats not true, we get the Acrean defense as well, for missle theory

It is very frustrating actually to research Neutral research centers and have nada....took awhile to find them too.

Perhaps your current Research buildings are already more advanced than the Neutral Research building.
In that case you would not see them.

Before you research the Neutrality Learning Centers there is no description in the technology box showing any upgrades except for descriptive text stating that you get vastly improved research buildings. There are no upgrades listed so I think there's either a bug or they're only half way implemented. The tech on the tech tree is there but the buildings it gives you aren't.

It was a dissapointment for the Iconian Refuge to say the least. But I doubt it would have stopped us from being slaughtered by the Drengin anyway.

Neutral Learning Centers are not in the game right now. The tech is there but the building is not. Stardock has mentioned this is on their to-do list.

If you research Good and Evil, you'll get access to Balanced Vision tech as well. As I recall, you get the Temple of Balance (galactic achievement, you get a fraction of all trade conducted by fellow neutrals) as well as something that increases the chances that another civilization will surrender to you.

Not to mention the pretty nice Plantery invasion abilities as well
